Your 10-day Namibia tour begins with a warm welcome from your friendly guide, who meets you in the morning at your hotel or at Windhoek airport. After a brief safari orientation, you set off as the journey gets underway. Leaving the capital behind, you travel through the rolling hills of the Khomas region, with the possibility—time permitting—of driving one of the scenic mountain passes into the Namib-Naukluft area. A stop at the small settlement of Solitaire offers the chance to sample its famous apple pie (optional) before continuing to the Elegant Desert Camp, your home for the next two nights. In the afternoon, you may choose to join the lodge’s optional sundowner drive, followed by a delightful dinner beneath the star-filled sky.

Distance approx. 200 km; driving time approx. 3 hours
The Namib Desert, recognized as the oldest desert on Earth, is at its most captivating in the early morning light—an experience that is truly unforgettable. Today begins before sunrise as you set out for the Namib-Naukluft Park, where your guide leads you to a secluded dune away from the crowds to admire the soft glow of dawn. After enjoying a picnic breakfast, you continue deeper into the desert toward the iconic Sossusvlei and Deadvlei area. A short stretch of off-road driving follows, comfortably handled by your 4×4 vehicle and experienced guide. T
he surreal white clay pan of Deadvlei offers a striking, otherworldly scene, with ample time to absorb the atmosphere and capture stunning photographs. Day 3 | Namib Desert – Swakopmund
Distance approx. 370 km; driving time approx. 5-6 hours
The day begins at a more leisurely pace before you set off through the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons. As so often in Namibia, the drive itself is wonderfully scenic. Just when the arid landscape starts to feel familiar, the Atlantic Ocean appears on the horizon, offering a striking contrast. From Walvis Bay, you follow a coastal road with the ocean on one side and the desert stretching out on the other, continuing on to Swakopmund.
The town’s architecture reflects a strong German heritage, and you are free to explore its streets at your own pace. In the evening, you may choose to dine at one of the many excellent restaurants in town or along the nearby coast (optional). Overnight accommodation is at the Organic Stay Guesthouse.

Today is at your leisure to enjoy as you wish. Known as Namibia’s adventure capital, Swakopmund lives up to its reputation with a wide range of activities to choose from. Options include a catamaran cruise, a desert safari, or an exhilarating quad biking excursion, all available on an optional basis. Alternatively, you may prefer a more relaxed pace—strolling along the beachfront, browsing the town’s shops, and indulging in a slice of traditional German cake at one of the charming local bakeries. Swakopmund is also home to several fascinating museums worth exploring. Make the most of your free day before returning for another overnight stay at the Organic Stay Guesthouse.

Day 5 | Swakopmund – Skeleton Coast – Damaraland
Distance approx. 470 km; driving time approx. 6 hours
Begin the day with a drive along Namibia’s legendary Skeleton Coast, a treacherous stretch where many ships have met their fate. You’ll pause at one such shipwreck, visible from the shoreline. Continuing along the coast, you reach Cape Cross, home to over two hundred thousand Cape fur seals—an unforgettable sight. Traveling further along this rugged coastline, the vast isolation of the landscape becomes palpable: harsh, barren, yet strikingly beautiful in a way words can scarcely capture. Before reaching Torra Bay, you turn inland toward Damaraland. In the afternoon, you arrive at your camp for a restful evening at Malansrus Tented Camp.

Day 6 | Damaraland/ Desert Elephant Tracking
After an early breakfast, you set out along the dry Huab Riverbed in search of the rare desert elephants. Along the way, take in the striking landscapes of Damaraland and learn about the local people and their traditional way of life. With some luck, you may spot desert-adapted elephants, slightly smaller than those found in Etosha National Park.
A picnic lunch beneath the shade of riverside trees provides a perfect mid-day break before continuing to Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll find more than 2,500 ancient rock engravings, dating from 2,000 to 6,000 years ago. Your guide will lead you to a quieter area where the petroglyphs are particularly well preserved, away from the main tourist paths.
After a day packed with discovery, return to Malansrus Tented Camp for another delicious dinner, letting the sounds of the wilderness lull you to sleep.

Damaraland stretches across a vast and varied landscape, offering plenty to explore. After yesterday’s visit to the Twyfelfontein rock engravings, today you head to the Petrified Forest. Guided by a local expert, you’ll see tree trunks that are around 260 million years old, now transformed into stone.
The site also offers a chance to admire Namibia’s national plant, the Welwitschia mirabilis, whose strange, otherworldly appearance hints at its remarkable age—many of these desert survivors are believed to be over a thousand years old. Afterward, you continue on to Etosha Safari Camp. Check-in will be quick, as your first game drive in Etosha National Park is ready to begin.
Keep your eyes peeled for the park’s incredible wildlife before returning to camp in the evening for a delicious dinner.

You’ll drive along the vast salt pan, stretching for kilometers to the east, where herds of impalas, wildebeest, oryx, and zebras graze across the open bush and grassy savannas. After a day full of unforgettable sightings, you exit Etosha via the Von Lindequist Gate and head to Onguma Bush Camp for the night.
