Tourists visiting Namib-Naukluft Park, including Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, can enjoy a wide variety of activities that showcase the breathtaking beauty, geological history, and unique ecosystems of the region. These activities are designed to accommodate different interests, from adventurous hikes and scenic drives to peaceful moments of photography and stargazing.

NamibRand Nature Reserve
NamibRand Nature Reserve is a private conservation area in southern Namibia, established in 1984 by Albi Brückner. It was created by consolidating several former livestock farms to restore and protect the unique biodiversity of the Namib Desert. The reserve spans over 200,000 hectares and is dedicated to sustainable tourism and preserving desert ecosystems without relying on hunting.

Olive Trail
The Olive Trail is a 10 km hiking loop in the Naukluft Mountains, offering dramatic desert scenery and panoramic views. Hikers navigate rocky paths, a narrow gorge, and a chain-assisted canyon crossing. It’s a moderately challenging route known for its wild olive trees, desert wildlife, and adventurous terrain.

Sesriem Canyon
Sesriem Canyon is a natural gorge carved by the Tsauchab River, located near the entrance to Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert. The canyon is up to 30 meters deep and offers a cool, shaded walk through layered rock formations. It’s one of the few places in the area where water can sometimes be found year-round.

Sossusvlei and Deadvlei
Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan surrounded by some of the world’s highest red sand dunes in the Namib Desert. Nearby, Deadvlei features a surreal white clay pan dotted with ancient, dead camel thorn trees. Both sites offer iconic, otherworldly landscapes perfect for photography and exploration.
